What is the difference between Web3.js and Ethers.js?

Web3.js and Ethers.js are both JavaScript libraries for interacting with the Ethereum blockchain, but they have different design philosophies:

• Web3.js: The original Ethereum JavaScript library, follows a single large object approach where everything is attached to the web3 object. It's been around longer and has wider adoption.

• Ethers.js: A more modern library with a modular design, separating concerns into different modules (providers, signers, contracts, utilities). It's smaller in size, has better TypeScript support, and follows modern JavaScript patterns.
