Re-explain
Hot Module Replacement (HMR) allows modules to be updated in the browser without losing application state or requiring a full page refresh. In Vite:
- Fast updates: HMR updates are nearly instantaneous because Vite only needs to update the changed module
- State preservation: Application state is maintained during updates
- Framework integration: Works seamlessly with frameworks like Vue, React, and Svelte through specific HMR APIs
- Automatic detection: Vite automatically detects file changes and pushes updates to the browser via WebSocket
When you edit a file, Vite invalidates only that module and its dependent modules, making updates much faster than traditional bundlers.
